Is that Modoc Gunterstein? From Ralph Helfers book “Modoc: The True Story of the Greatest Elephant that Ever Lived”?
Just finished the book, Modoc: The True Story of the Greatest Elephant That Ever Lived, and am deeply touched and moved. Would like more details, like: How long after Bram’s death did Modoc live? What befell Modoc between her being sold by North and her being bought by Helfer? What became of Gertie? How did Modoc die? Any suggestions on where to find the answers?
Just read book – Amazing – Unbelievable – Is Mr. North part of the John Ringling North family-I have been a circus fan for 70 years why haven’t I heard of MODOC – Is there any documentation available on this subject?
I just discovered the book Modoc, please tell me is more to this story. I can not fibd anything on this elephant or her amazing life.
