| November 22, 2014

The photo says she was 110 yrs old ….I don’t believe that is accurate as I think she was in her eighties when she died.  Gip or Gypsy as she was called sometimes, had been on other circuses before Grandfather bought her. She was not a very well elephant and nearing the end of her […]

J.E. Henry’s Circus Bandwagon

In this photo Grandfather is presenting one of the llama’s from his menagerie. Many of the photos that had been taken of his circus were turned into post cards. He used them for personal and advance advertisement.

Henry Bros Circus

| November 22, 2014

Grandfather, for whatever reason, would often change the name of the circus such as J.E Henry’s Circus or Big Show,  Henry Bros, and as seen in this photo…. The Great Henry’s Show. Photo taken in the early 1900’s. I wish I could make out the writing on this photo. Can you, if so please comment.

J.E. Henry mounted on his manage horse. Photo taken in the very early 1900’s. You will notice a two pole big top which only allowed for one ring in between the the poles. I am guessing the date of this photo was 1908 or 1910.
