Gabriel Henry

| October 4, 2012

Gabe sits in one of our circus semis playing his drums.  He was only four at the time of this photo, taken at Legend City amusement Park in 1976. I was surprised by his rhythmic ability at such a young age.

Shorty & Solon Henry

| October 4, 2012

My elephant Shorty’s best friend was my son Solon. If I would allow them they would play all day long and never get tired. The mud hole was their favorite spot. Solon would take off Shorty’s chains, grab the water hose and the fun started. Shorty was capable of taking off his own leg chains. [...]

From left to right Patty, Shirley, GarY, Ethel and Glen Henry. This photo had to be taken in the late 1940′s. All the Henrys had a rolling globe act. The reason is on their father circus the Henry boys had to double for each other. It came to mind just how many acts the Henry [...]

Nice To Be Young

| September 28, 2012

Shirley, Gary and Patty Henry.  Jimmy Henry came much later, a pleasant surprise for many. I believe this photo was taken in 1950? I asked Zoeanna but she  did not know nor did Gary.  It really doesn’t matter.

I never knew this photo existed. I received a box of circus photos from Charles Clancy. The box contained the total Tommy Bentley Collection. In one of the albums is where I discovered my Dads photo. What a wonderful find. This photo was taken on the Rudy Bros Circus 1969. He had retried from the [...]

Jimmy & Dolly Conners

| January 17, 2012

Jimmy Conners is the son of Al Conners Covert and my aunt Bertha May Henry Conners. Jimmy took after his father Al and became one fine juggler. Dolly, Jimmy’s wife, was a sweetheart of a lady and between the two of them… no matter what acts they did ….their acts were top drawer.
