The Equestrienne

Posted By on March 31, 2012

This equestrienne image is part photo. The background including horse and lady, is a photograph. While the rest is free hand art, done in ink–though it was never finished. The designer could have been making it for a poster or a program cover. It is really hard to say. All I have is what you see. There was no info with the negative.

This is all that I could glean from the negative. I figure that I am lucky even to get this as the negative is acetate. There was no further info on the folder that the negative came in.

Photo taken during a parade in 1905. This wagon I believe to be a Tableau.

This an original photo of a “Tableau Wagon” 1905. Sorry for the quality of this photo, it is the best I could do with my photo shop.

Great comment Bob. Thanks.

A rare photo of Carl Hagenbecks steam calliope. From the info that I have, Carl is the person standing in the calliope window?

Band Chariot

I found this in my collection of photos. There was no information, just this illustration. It may have been a prototype to show a circus owner for his OK to build. There is a name of G. Lengert & Son on the photo.
