Johnny Zoppe and his wife. Johnny Zoppe is the haft brother of Olgie Zavatta. This has to be one of the most unique unsupported ladder acts I have ever seen.

That is Johnny Zoppe standing in the background; I believe that is his son David on the ladder and Johnny’s daughter Sonja on the revolve.
I just thought it would be fun to say that I have a handwritten letter from 1980 from Johnny Zoppe Jr. ordering a sound effect from me. I’m a recording engineer and at that time I owned a recording studio and one speciality of mine was creating special sound effects including science fiction sound effects. I don’t remember (!) what the sound effect was but may have been an explosion or discharge of some kind…I remember ages ago wondering if it was for someone being shot out of a canon. Oh, the return address on the envelope says Spartan Co., Mesquite, Texas. Oh…but looking inside at the letter he wrote Ringling Bros. Circus, Haines City, Florida. Cheers, John.
