From left to right: the Schwarz Trio, the Hobson family and the Hodgini family. This photo was taken June 20,1931 in Patterson, New Jersey. It’s a great picture of a great group of performers. I want to thank Michael for contributing this photo to the circus blog. I have no knowledge of the names of the three clowns below but maybe someone can make an ID on them.

To Pail Johnson. I posted your comment perhaps some one will confirm the names of the clowns.

Hello Looking for Pictures / info on and Allen (Allan) Hauser. He was and equestian director / performer and was in the following:
Al G. Barnes, Sparks, John Robinson’s,
    Walter L. Main, Hagenbeck-Wallace, Sells-Floto, and probably others–from
    at least 1912 through 1936.
I have found A Sell-Floto Program from the 1930’s which had her grandmother Viola Hauser (Cornalla).
She also used Coranall while in the Pete Cornalla Troupe.
He is my wife’s Grandfather and we only have one picture. He was also married to
Laverne Hauser and Viola Hauser which were in some of the same circuses.
Viola and Alan are my wife’s Grand parents and his son Alan Hauser Jr. Helped out in the circus as a young boy which is my wife’s father.
I would appreciate any help or if you can point me in the right direction.

    rh

My wife’s Grandfather (Robert Carr) and his brother Frederick toured with this circus until 1932. Here is some info for you. He and his brother toured for 12 years after WW1 in North America with Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Bailey Circus, and with the Sells-Floto Circus performing with a film star named Tom Mix. In 1932, Robert only toured in Canada with his brother as the Canadian Clowns Royal at theatres and fairs. Hopefully someone out there has more info on them for me on Robert. Maybe he and his brother are 2 of the clowns in the picture.
