Tubby is the man warming up, and Spatz is the lady standing there. I know because Spatz is my mother!
This is a picture of Michael and Hanna Hauser, a married couple from Germany who moved to America and performed eccentric acrobats in the circus. They also appeared on The Ed Sullivan show during the same time Elvis Presley preformed (1954 or 56). There is more to their story….
I love that your parents watched them perform! I would love to hear more about the circus and see more pictures! My mom made some great friends in the circus and told me some funny (and sad) stories during her time there.
Sincerely,
Giselle
