Arthur Bros Circus #2

This indeed is a very rare photo and could be the only one. I got this positive photo from the original negative that I have in my collection.

Another great comment from Bob Cline.

  1. By the window setup this looks to a ticket office. In the 70s we duplicated it as a caboose in Red. For Circus savy thus the referance, hit the Red Wagon or today the eagle poops, aka payday.

  2. This rig,I think, was featured on a music video for MTV by Depech Mode. I made a couple of elephant tubs which I rented to them and later converted them to filters for my pond business, Randy the Pond Guy. I think I spent both sides of that Nickel.

This ticket wagon has been around a long time. It was on the Sells-Floto Circus around the late 1920’s early 1930’s. After John Ringling pulled the Sells-Floto show off the road, this ticket wagon drifted over the the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus. Like the cage above, it was stranded at the Al G. barnes quarters in 1938 when the HW show folded. Louis Goebel got it. It went on the Arthur Bros. Circus from 1943 to 1945 and then came back to Louis Goebel where it was used in numerous movies and even fronted the Cristiani Bros. Circus when they played in Los Angles in 1960.
Louis Goebel donated this ticket wagon to the Circus World Museum in the early 1960’s.
