This wagon also at one time was owned by Louie Goebel. Where it is located now is anyone’s guess. At the back of the wagon is a drop center constructed this way to hold water for seals or hippopotamus. There were a few drop centers made that housed a electrical generator, aka “Hot Wagon” The side of this wagon was painted, maybe for a movie?  Mr Cline what do you think?? An up date from Bob Cline. The wagon is a tableau it has been refurbished and was used in the movie Jumbo. Jimmy Durante was “Pops”….. Thanks Bob.

This wagon was probably used on Jumbo, but the POP on the sky board refers to Pacific Ocean Park, POP. This was an amusement park on a pier between Santa Monica and Venice, California. One season, during the 1960’s, they ran a promotion called the POP Super Sea Circus. A number of these wagons were rented and placed at the entrance. The wagon is now at Baraboo and painted the way it was on Arthur Bros. Circus.

Hi Jerry I remember working at POP with our chimp act at the sea circus. Wally Ross brought us in. He worked Porpoise, the seals and The baby elephant Popsie plus M Ced the show. Later I started doing the porpoise act and M Ced. It was a lot of fun working with fish that can think. Maybe I just did not see the wagons at the front gate. IVAN

I must have seen you work. My brother and I went to POP a couple of times that summer and saw the shows each time. I must have been around 15 then. Had a lot of fun.
