Henry’s Chimps Letter

Posted By on November 30, 2012

In 1978, I wrote this fast note to Mack and Peggy MacDonald along with this letter some photos of Henry Bros Circus that Mack wanted. I had forgotten this until Billie Henderson Schuller sent it via email. Billie is Peggy sister. Billie acquired this letter and other memorabilia that Peggy had . I spoke with Billie today and thanked her for the letter and the Lew Henderson Circus photos. She laughed a little and said do you want more?

I bet you know what my answer was.

Thank you John Herriott for your kind and informative comment.

Very nice of the Hendersons. You and I can both be proud of our American Showbiz legacy just like the Hendersons. My Engesser family was in the Rep. show biz. I remember seeing Lou perform in late years on some little Oprey. Had a chimp. Peggy Mac Donald was a Henderson and met Mac on another of our American circuses [Bud Anderson] and Bud was relation to the Great Dime Wilson American showbiz. family. I know the various Henrys were around my Uncle George Engesser shows including Bertha Conners[nee Henry], Bum etc. As you can see I am so proud of my American heritage going back many generations. My Dad was on and spoke so favorably over the years of his association with Mighty Haag and Lindemann [Seils Sterling] both American institutions and being on shows with Everett and his famous son Harry James with brings in the American Loter Family. Harrys sis ter Fay married a Loter and also brings into the picture the Silverlake family and Arthur Blake of Blondie movie fame. Thanks Ivan for keeping the heritage alive with your fine blog. Johnny
