My Elephant

We did many school promotions. Called “Kids at Legend City” where on Saturdays one through third grades were invited to visit with Shorty. This fine little elephant really enjoyed the event because of all the treats he got from the kids. Smoky Jones named him Shorty. For whatever reason I don’t know, but the name stuck. Smoky also did the first braking of Shorty for Gene Holter. In the spring of 1976 I bought him from the Holters for Henry Bros Circus. A Pam Kulesza photo.
