Mallkova

I truly hope I spelled Mallkova’s name correctly. Dad and I worked many a show with her. She was indeed a fine lady and a great performer. This is a Bill Biggerstaff photo. It was taken in 1968 on the Rudy Circus. I called Bill and told him that I had found one of his photos in my collection. I explained the photo to him and asked him if he remembered it. He then chuckled and said,”I have shot over 10 thousand photos.” It got silent for a second or two and then he said “NO but if my name is on the back of it YES.” Well Bill Biggerstaff’s name is on the back with a Hollywood address.

Thank you Carol for the spelling correction.

This photo is the lion tableau band wagon 1921.

A must read comment by Darryl Ferges. Thanks Darryl for your comment.

For those in our business who had family back then, we fully understand just how tough it was. I have listened with awe the stories about the old days. True stories told by my Father, uncles and my grandfather as well as many old timers……… They are all gone now and may God bless them…. IVAN

This wagon is quite unique as it has an open face on both sides, like a picture frame. I am suggesting that it was used for several different presentations, one of which is seen here with these two ladies. They might be performers, guests of the circus, or dignitaries. You can use your own imagination of what could be exhibited. There was no other information on this wagon, just the date, 1921.

I posted two of the same photo 8 & 7 as one gives a little better detail. The information that I have on these two is that they are from Great London & Barnum 1988. The float is called Blue Beard, the one in front is Cinderella? That is the only information on the negative folder of these two photos.
