Doc Capell Poster

Posted By on November 20, 2011

This poster dates back to the 1940’s and 1950’s. Doc Capell carried his circus on the back of his carnival. As the years passed the carnival proved to be more profitable. Doc was very proud of his sons and put them on the show poster. Jack Capell on the left served in the Army, Bill Capell in center was too young to enlist, and Bob Capell joined the Navy.

Dorothy Capell, the wife of the late Bill Capell gave me this poster along with a Siebrand Poster. These poster are very, very rare. Thank you, Dorothy I will always cherish them.

What a cool poster. I remember lots of older posters wallpapering some of the old south LC offices but never saw this one.I hadn’t thought about Jack in a few years. I will always remember him and his novelty joint on the north side of LC. Ivan this made me smile. Be well and keep the happy memories coming!
