Jose Gonzales Gonzales Gonzales

Posted By on June 25, 2012

Jose was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. He came from an old Mexican circus family. When he came to this country he brought with him a musical comedy act and believe me it was laugh a minute. His instruments were frying pans, beer and wine bottles, or anything else he could find that could be tuned to a music scale. He would then play them like a marimba. It was a unique act of old Mexican and American tunes mixed with funny one-liners.

  1. I too did a lot of shows with Jose, both grand stand and indoor. One of his lines referred to the little bottle of Taquilla, and the blue bottle of Pepto Bismo.I can still picture his little hinney shacking and those cute looks over his shoulder while he played “Tijuana Taxi”. One of the frying pans was muffled because of the proverbial ‘Rubber Chicken’. What a great spirit with impecable timing. Thanks for posting a real show stopper.
