Mark Smith

Mark Smith and Tina on the back of the rosin back horse, Janis” Skeeter” Farren is running to the vaulting board. Skeeter is the mother of Brad Farren, he is the person responsible for all the latest Mark Smith photos. He also just sent a CD of a 20 minute show of Horse Capades produced by Mark Smith in the 1950’s. I hope to download it soon on the circus blog. This photo was taken at Mark Smith’s ranch in Southern California.

My Dad, Darrell Agee (Mark’s Nephew) was raised by Uncle Mark. As a Child, my brother and I spent summers at his Burbank Ranch. What great memories. Would love to see more pics. Please keep me in the loop.

Mark taught me how to Rosinback, the greatest times learning from him! he is still missed.
Hi Mr. Henry,
Is it possible to purchase a copy of the 20 minute CD on Mark Smith’s Horse
Capades?
THANK YOU for doing The Circus Blog – it’s “WONDERFUL” !
And THANK YOU Mr. Farren, for sharing your family photos they are so much fun
to see.
I do not have a CD. What I do have is a book on training that Mark wrote.
My name is Mark Smith, I am the great-grandson of Mark Twain Smith. His son, Richard Smith is my grandfather. My father is Scott Smith, who, at age 7, used to race the chariots in one the shows Great Grandpa Mark used to put on.
I am very interested in getting a copy of that 20 minute CD as well as the book on training he wrote.
I am passing on our family stories to my own son now, and i would love to have things like that to show him. Especially videos, as the majority of our family home videos have been damaged.
I went on the road in a circus with Mark when I was a child. We did a bit where I pretended to be from the audience and they put me in the safety rig and on a horse and I preteneded to be terrified and I would slid off the back of the horse and grab the tail for dear life while they held me up on the rigging. After they let me down they brought out a pony named black beauty and I ripped off my street clothes and I had my costume underneath. I then did all my tricks on black beauty.
Do you have any idea what circus that was I can’t remember.
