Sells Floto Circus

Another heavily carved tableau called the Hippopotamus. You will notice this also has a band on top. The photo was shot on the same day, same parade by J. W. Beggs, 1910 Kansas City, Mo. I presume they had two bands in their parade and why not?

    It was common practice to split the big show band into several parade units so that there was music during the length of the parade. Bigger shows would also parade a clown band as well as the side show band, all riding on different wagons.
